Critical text
Throughout Julián Génisson’s career, it is common to find works co-signed with collectives such as Canódromo Abandonado or Las Inmediaciones, as well as recurring names both in front of and behind the camera: Pablo Hernando, Juan Cavestany, Aaron Rux or Lorena Iglesias, who contributes to this session, among other projects, with an episode of the web series Pampini, a source of inspiration for Julián’s work. This session, which has a DIY spirit very much in the vein of Giulio Questi’s later period, features apartment blocks, plastic offices, stock images, business cards, selfies at Primark, alternate endings, and a plenty of awkward conversations: a collection of short films by and featuring Julián Génisson made between 2011 and 2021.
