In this solar-lunar diptych set within an enchanted Vigo, SOHU continues exploring the expansive potential of digital imagery, where the dead coexist alongside the living. Characters condemned, for different reasons, to inhabit darkness find their way toward light through others – much like SOHU’s own filmmaking practice. “I can see the future, but since it doesn’t exist, what I really see are future possibilities,” says Sara, a clairvoyant featured in the first story. There are as many futures as the images we create and inhabit alongside those we love. DANIELA URZOLA
BIOGRAPHY

SOHU (Vigo, 1799) is a former countess from the now-defunct municipality of Lavadores, in what is today the city of Vigo. She can transform into a bat, a rat, and a wolf; but what she is incapable of becoming is heterosexual. She lives in a non-monogamous relationship with several partners in her old manor, supposedly abandoned for years by the local inhabitants. In the early 1990s, with the arrival of digital cinema, she begins recording homemade erotic films which, according to legend, can drive anyone who watches them insane.
