Critical text
In contrast to Pirandello's work, in Gabi Șarga and Cătălin Rotaru's debut opera, it is the authors who go in search of their characters. This is evident from the outset in a shot reminiscent of Coppola's The Conversation, in which they "hunt" down their protagonist amidst the hustle and bustle of Bucharest. This young man will form, together with a little girl, a strange couple with echoes of Quixote and Sancho, defending the transformative power of reality in favor of the authors' creative freedom, in order to escape the madness generated by the established social order.
