Annotating, segmenting, and delineating are just some of the tasks performed by micro-workers from the Global South (Venezuela, Kenya, the Philippines) who, under exploitative conditions, dedicate themselves to training the artificial intelligence of autonomous vehicles produced in the West. Filmmaker and artist Nicolas Gourault, associated with forensic architecture, dissects the nature of AI-generated images in this work, shedding light on the human and material structures that sustain these technologies. These are machines at the service of techno-capitalism which, while seeking to erase individuals, cannot exist without them. DANIELA URZOLA
