Zabala is the artistic name of Jon Aguirrezabalaga, a composer and producer based in Bilbao. In recent years, he has composed the soundtrack for the film “Singular” alongside Ana Arsuaga (Verde Prato) and, together with Maite Arroitajauregi (Mursego), the music for the documentary “Mercenario.” A member of the now-defunct We Are Standard, with whom he released four albums and performed over 500 concerts internationally, he currently balances his work as a composer for film and theater with his own projects and production work for other artists at his studio El Tigre, where he has collaborated with artists such as Verde Prato, Sara Zozaya, Kokoshca, Silitia, Merina Gris, Delaporte, Airu, and Reina Republicana, among others. As Zabala, he released “No Club,” his latest LP, in 2024, which has been featured in prestigious publications such as Metal Magazine, Far Out Magazine, and BBC6. This was preceded by “Martian Civilization OST” (Forbidden Colours, 2022) and the EP “Vik” (Mushroom Pillow, 2019).
