Born in Lithuania in 1988, Laurynas Bareiša has a background in applied mathematics and cinematography, and later obtained a master’s degree in film directing. He has recently worked as the cinematographer on Marija Kavtaradzė’s feature films Summer Survivors (2018) and Slow (2023). As a director, his short films include By the Pool (2017), Caucasus (2018), and Dummy (2020). His debut feature, Pilgrims (2021), won Best Film in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.
