Fluid Frontiers closes the quintet about African diaspora that Ephraim Asili started in 2010 with Forged Ways. In his last movie, Asili generates a temporal and geographical path with a device as simple as incisive. Filmed in both sides of Detroit river in American and Canadian soil, Fluid Frontiers stages a series of readings taken from the original copies of the literary publication Broadside Press, founded in 1965 in Detroit and a pioneer in the publication of African-American writers.
