Bruna Carvalho Almeida’s first film traces a parallel story: from the 1992 VHS material, which forms a patchwork fresco about the lives of the well-to-do Baumann youth, up to a quarter of a century later, when a voice-over reels the mystery that surrounds the investigation about its disappearance. The zigzag movement inevitably refers to the comparison of Brazilian youth in two periods: the Fernando Collor de Mello’s one, the first president of Brazil after the democratic restoration, and the one of our present.
