BIOGRAPHY

JORGE SUÁREZ-QUIÑONES RIVAS (León, 1992). Filmmaker and visual artist.
His work has been programmed in different spaces and contexts linked to film and art, including Tokyo Image Forum, CA2M, IFFR Rotterdam, Punto de Vista, FICUNAM, Fracto Experimental Film Encounter Berlin, Documenta Madrid, MUBI's Notebook, MUSAC, Filmadrid, Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018, SixtyEight Art Institute Copenhagen, Salón Madrid and Rencontres Internationales Paris-Berlin.
Teacher and project tutor at LAV (Laboratorio Audiovisual de Creación y Práctica Contemporánea, Madrid).
Through his artistic practice in the medium of film, he experiments with the formal and conceptual implications of in-camera montage in its relationship to the present as a spatio-temporal category.
He is currently one of the artists in residence at the WIELS contemporary art centre in Brussels.
