Gregory Markopoulos who form-wise was certainly The New American Cinema Group’s most radical mind as witnessed by Twice a Man (1963), The Illiac Passion (1964-67), or Galaxie (1966), and would remain a luminary of the New York underground, which, per Mekas (in ’64…) and in his definition of the scene/sphere/realm/domain, was the lone meaningful remainder of The Group’s efforts and aspirations.
