Since its first edition, FILMADRID proposed to turn the city of Madrid into a key element of the festival. For this 10th edition, we bring back a historical activity of the festival, which we had not carried out since the pandemic: the Ruta Cinéfila, a route through the centre of Madrid to visit locations where Spanish films have been shot. Some of these stops are places we often walk through and which, through the film stills, can be rediscovered with new eyes, but we will also pass through spots that the cinema reveals to us for the first time. At some of these points, the directors or collaborators of the films themselves will be waiting for us, sharing their experiences of filming and offering keys about their creative processes. The route has an exceptional guide, Professor Nicolás Grijalba, an expert in Madrid cinema, who has designed a historical tour combining cinematographic values with the social and political repercussions of some of these films. With this activity, aimed at all audiences, FILMADRID vindicates the cinematographic potential of the city we live in.
