Critical text
This unusual work, produced by A Cuarta Parede Films, submerges us from its first measures in a dreamlike atmosphere crossed by mystery. The sonorous textures, halfway between minimalism and ambient, are the introduction to la Jovencita’s universe, which is dominated by introspection and the desire to tear the limits of her existence. A motorbike crosses the desert in the middle of the night as a metaphor for the inner journey, while the gaze of our protagonist scrutinizes the horizon. What does she want to find? What is the objectof her search? Solitude is accentuated in the immensity of the landscape, always portrayed in a monotonous but irrevocable flight. The voices are deformed and, like the shades of red and green, the panoramas or the detailed shots, make it evident that the journey of la Jovencita does not consist only in an attempt to escape from herself, but also delineates with precision and visual exuberance the nuance that differentiates two vital processes: to grow old is not to decompose.
