The Inferninho bar is a refuge for dreams and fantasies. The love that is born between Deusimar, its owner, and Jarbas, the sailor who has just arrived and yearns to take root, will completely transform the life of the place and of all those who work there.

GUTO PARENTE and PEDRO DIÓGENES are members of the film collective Alumbramento, which also includes directors Ricardo Pretti and Luiz Pretti, with whom they have previously directed the films Road to Ythaca (2010), The Monsters (2011) and At The Wrong Place (2011).

The story of Inferninho takes us us to the underworld of a bar run by Deusimar -masterful performance of Yuri Yamamoto-. His routine and escapist reality takes dramatic turns with the visit of Jarbas, a wandering sailor who manages to find shelter between the dilapidated walls of the bar and his eccentric visitors. The latest collaboration of Pedro Diógenes and Guto Parente - after Carretera a Ythaca (2010) and Os monstros (2011) - addresses the gender issue, building a fascinating universe through the reformulation of stereotypes and a powerful creative capacity. The emotional pulse of the film is moving and intense, overcoming the sobriety of its resources thanks, mainly, to the acting labour and a careful work of sound. Inferninho is a song to the marginal existences: not only consists of the display of suggestive aesthetic proposals, but also offers the proof of a resistance based on despair and fraternity.
