SYNOPSIS
BIOGRAPHY

NIKA SON studied fine arts in Hamburg and has since worked as a musician, artist, film composer and DJ. Influenced by Musique Concrète and the outer space of electronic music, her compositions are constructed from modified and fragmented field recordings, interwoven with analogue synthesizers, broken rhythms, rare voice snippets and modulated tape. The sounds, of diverse origin, are translated into a highly unusual musical language, as if observing the audible. In March 2020, his debut album was released on the Belgian-British label Entr'acte. In addition to his solo project and various collaborations with artists, notably Helena Wittmann, he has regularly organised art and music events at the Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg. Since 2019 he is part of the curatorial team of the Papiripar festival. www.nikason.de
