Critical text
Quentin Dupieux, undisputed master of contemporary comedy, author of works as gloriously revolutionary as Wrong Cops (2013) and Réalité (2014), with Au poste! he delivers another unusual piece of absurd humor. All part of a simple police interrogation, in which Louis, unlikely suspect of a crime, maintains an intense face to face with Captain Buron, a character as grotesque as touching that joins the long list of delirious creatures drawn
by the director. Far from clarifying the facts, the dialectical battle is gradually entangled by constant digressions, blowing up
the logic of time and space, questioning the concept of reality, both in life and in the cinema. Quentin Dupieux brings two strong sentences: 1) Surrealism ends up to being the most reliable tool to understand ourselves; and 2) human existence can only be conceived from the unlimited imagination.
