The unstable relationship between two sisters who meet again after a long time provides Dan Sallitt with a new opportunity to explore family ties, religion and the consequences of a repressive education. The simplicity of the mise-en-scène, the patient gaze and the containment in the interpretations that define Sallitt’s cinema let us, however, glimpse the tortured universe of the characters, enhanced by a very measured work on dialogues.
